How long have you been practising yoga?
Since 1999 (23 years)

What classes at Nilaya House do you attend?
Ashtanga Led, Mysore, Iyengar, Yin and Nidra

Why do you practice yoga? What benefits does it bring?
Yoga keeps my body strong and flexible, clears my mind and can instantly shift my energy to a positive state of wellbeing. Yoga provides me with a hard stop from my intense work and travel schedule and allows me to connect with my true self. When I practise I feel more clear, light and grounded and I experience more “aha” moments, being reminded of what is true and not, which has helped and continues to help me a lot in life. I also love the energy in the shala, providing me with a warm and nurturing sanctuary when I need it. Nilaya House offers authentic yoga, taught by some of the best teachers in Dubai, hosting a vibrant community of dedicated students from diverse backgrounds.

What is your favourite posture and why?
I love all postures, with all the experiences they bring. Asanas are so intelligently designed and never cease to teach me things about myself, even those that I had never realised. But if I have to choose one, it would be Savasana, practising to surrender with an open heart and feeling fully supported by the ground I lay on.

What’s your advice for people wanting to start yoga?
Yoga is the greatest gift to yourself and those around you. You will physically, mentally and emotionally enhance your life in magical ways.
