Ashtanga Yoga and Iyengar Yoga with Aparajita. Since I moved from Dubai to Oman, I am attending online classes of Nilaya House regularly.
Why do you practice yoga? What benefits does it bring?
Yoga has helped me stay balanced and live in the present moment. Although at the same time, it has really contributed to keeping me more disciplined and structured my life in the best ways. I love that feeling after yoga practice… a feeling of happiness and calmness.
What is your favourite posture and why?
Hmm, not easy to say. I think it’s Sarvangasana – shoulder stand. It puts me in a relaxing mood since it’s the 1st asana in the finishing sequence. However it is still an active posture, so you are able to experience that nice combination of activeness and peacefulness at the same time.
What’s your advice for people wanting to start yoga?
You can find benefits just for your needs. It can be for your physical health, mental health, or recovery. Just find your yoga – Ashtanga, Iyengar, Yin, Restorative. Combine it with Meditation, Pranayama Breathing. Allow yourself to give it a try.
