Iyengar Immune Boosting Sequence with Aparajita Ghose

Friday October 23

In August 2009, during the international H1N1 (swine flu) pandemic, yoga master BKS Iyengar shared two immune building yoga sequences. One was an energetic morning sequence, the second was a quieter evening sequence.

Both sequences included:

  1. inversions that use gravity to help stimulate the lymphatic system
  2. chest opening backbends to support cardiovascular and respiratory health
  3. breathing exercises, which also stimulate the immune system and improve respiratory health

We will be practising the morning sequence together. Modifications will be offered for those who are new to Iyengar Yoga and unable to hold inversions independently.

For more seasoned practitioners this is an opportunity to practice the entire sequence with some guiding tips.

Open to students practising Iyengar Yoga.
