Welcome to 2020! May you be blessed with the fruits of a regular yoga practice with the possibilities of being able to see things more clearly.
At the beginning of the new year we often think about things we want to achieve, the direction we would like our lives to take. Yoga is such an invaluable tool for bringing clarity and focus for us to see what truly gives us lasting happiness. Through regular practice, we begin to feel good in our own skin, the mind is more at ease, we feel we can take on whatever life throws our way, and we grow in our understanding of our life’s purpose. Yoga brings us not just physical and mental vitality, but works in cultivating compassion and resilience, essential supports for any growth or transformation we want to undertake.
However, sometimes we know all of this in theory, but there is a bit of a gap between doing what we know will be good for us, and then actually doing it. That’s why the beginning of the year can be such a powerful time to set the intention of forming some new habits that you know will serve you well in the long term. With that in mind we’ve got some great beginners courses coming up this month which are open to those completely new to yoga or those just wanting to get back in the yoga groove again.
We’ve also made a few adjustments to our class pass, removing the time limits from 10, 20 and 40 class passes, but because we firmly believe the more yoga the better, the best value for you remains our monthly unlimited pass.

FOUR-WEEK BEGINNERS YOGA COURSE
This four-week beginners course is the ideal way to begin your practice and discover yoga in a safe and supportive environment. It is perfect for beginners and suitable for anyone looking to revisit the fundamentals of yoga.
Each 90-minute session will build the practice week-by-week, introducing you to the basics
of yoga postures (asanas), healthy alignment and breathing. You’ll also learn simple relaxation techniques
This course provides a good foundation for continued practice at any of the classes we offer.

FOUR-WEEK PRENATAL YOGA COURSE
This four-week course, taught by certified birth doula Britni Allen, is designed to bring about body awareness and connection with your baby as your pregnancy develops. The course is limited to six students only so you receive individual and personal attention from the teacher who will be able to provide you with enhanced guidance and support.
The course format also means that the students each week are the same, so the class setting is intimate and supportive. Each class will incorporate breathing techniques as well as a sequence of yoga asanas, repeated week-to-week, that are useful for maintaining and building strength through the pregnancy, relieving pregnancy-associated discomfort as well preparing physically and mentally for birth.
The course is designed in a way that it is suitable to re-take a second four-week session. Suitable for pregnant women from the second trimester onwards, with or without yoga experience (with doctors clearance).

TEACHER TRAINING IN 2020
200-HOUR HATHA YOGA TEACHERS’ TRAINING COURSE
Start your journey towards teaching by learning the fundamentals of yoga.
This six-month training in Dubai, starting mid-February 2020, will be led by senior teacher Sneha Arora, supported by a team of teachers, experts in yoga practice, philosophy, anatomy, health & wellness.
The training is a well-balanced holistic integrative curriculum of seven different modules taught over 14 weekends. This thorough curriculum has been developed by The Yoga Institute and used to train thousands of yoga teachers worldwide. It is focused on ensuring graduates are equipped with the fundamentals of yoga practice, spanning philosophy and practical yogic techniques.

Remembering spiritual teacher Ram Dass (Richard Alpert) who left his body on December 29, 2019. Ram Dass’ book Be Here Now, first published in 1971. detailing his own personal spiritual journey has served as an inspiration for many fellow seekers over the years.
His more recent book Polishing the Mirror (2013) is also excellent.
