Saturday June 9,
Are we listening? Can we hear the state of the body? Do we recognise its voice?
This inner awareness is known as Interoception, the seventh sense. It is the awareness of our own internal body state, our sense of the body’s own internal signals and is essential to our sense of embodiment, motivation and well-being.
Faulty or altered interoception can be a cause in conditions like irritable bowel, fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression and chronic fatigue.
In this workshop you will test and build on your capacity for your own interoception, often referred to as mindfulness. You will recognise any altered states or dissociations and if your inner and outer world is effecting your body and well-being. You will learn ways to re-develop this seventh sense in your daily lives.
The workshop will be taught by Karin Locher, Founder of the Centre of Spatial Medicine.
